Public Sector
Cambria Vehicle Services' senior associates have a long history of partnership with the Public Sector on Cars, Vans, Trucks and a wide range of Specialist Vehicles, including front line Ambulances, Patient Transport Vehicles, Municipal applications and Grounds Maintenance Plant.
The development of Local Authority and NHS transport outsourcing, which commenced in earnest in the 90s, required innovative and flexible responses to ensure best practice and competitive terms. The first London Boroughs to outsource transport were Wandsworth and Southwark in 1994 and 1995 respectively, and both these significant developments were managed and delivered through a significant amount of personal input from our senior associates.
The complexities of transport funding and management provision in the public sector require specialists, and we are well placed to offer a range of services specific to Local Authorities, NHS Trusts and Semi-state Institutions and Charities. A summary of these services is shown here: -
- Consultancy services encompassing Operational Leasing, Contract Hire, Workshop Management, Tender specification - in short every aspect of vehicle acquisition, management, repair, maintenance and disposal relating to the transport services provided by Local Authorities to their Council Tax and Business Rate payers.
- Cars, Vans, Trucks and Specialist Vehicles on Finance & Operational Lease and Contract Hire agreements. We adopt a consultative approach with our public sector clients, using our industry experience to assess their vehicle and driver related needs. We then provide a package of vehicle - including where appropriate body and auxiliary equipment - packaged with leasing options appropriate to the intended use of the vehicle.
- Fleet Management services on Cars, Vans, Trucks and Specialist Vehicles.
- Short, Medium and Long Term Rental on Cars, Vans, Trucks and Specialist Vehicles.
- Affinity and Employee Car Lease Programmes - see the link on this page.
- Consultation and solution services relating to Duty of Care. Heavier than ever financial and custodial penalties are in place to be levied on corporations or public sector entities and their senior managers who fail to comply with laws governing the management of Occupational Road Risks. This means that public sector officers need to have in place a robust programme to ensure their vehicles and drivers are fully and at all times compliant. Where employees use their own cars on the Authority’s business, a similar Duty of Care is incumbent on the employer for this class of driver - the so-called 'grey' fleet.
